4 Archambaults successfully made the French team selections for the 2104 Commodores Cup. France Green had the one month old A13 “Teasing Machine” owned by Eric De Turkheim, joining the successful A35R “Chenapan 3” with owner/driver Gilles Caminade. France Blue had the optimised A40RC “Goa” of Gilles Prietz and France White had “Dunkerque Plaisance – Gill Racing Team” owned by Benoit D’Halluin.
In what continues to be a very competitive fleet, all 27 yachts had high hopes for top ten and podium finishes. In the end Team Ireland sailed the consistent series taking the Cup from holders Team GBR (GBR Red won in 2012).
The Archambaults had a good showing throughout with:
- A40RC “Goa” finishing within the top10 in all 8 races
- A13 “Teasing Machine” had 3 podium finishes and 1 top10 finish. Teasing Machine won the offshore race a great result for a yacht just recently launched
- A35R “Chenapan 3” collected a podium
- A35 “Dunkerque Plaisance – Gill Racing Team” also collected a podium
A good showing in a strong IRC fleet in testing conditions. It is positive to see that all designs are continuing to show their strengths and competitiveness across the range of conditions and courses.
